Lead me to the rock…

LEAD ME TO THE ROCK
The psalmist said, “When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I” (Psalm 61:2). At times, we feel overwhelmed by the situation we are in. We feel too small and too fragile in this wicked and contradictory world. We look at the stars in the sky, the mighty mountains and wonder how we as frail as we are can play a part in God’s master plan for His creation. As children of God, it is when we find ourselves in such vulnerable circumstances that we can truly discover who we are in Christ. He is not looking for the strong or mighty – He is looking for the weak and frail so that His mighty power can be manifested. When we have exhausted our mental and emotional resources, we can no longer rely on ourselves. We simply have to trust in something, Someone stronger, wiser and smarter than ourselves That Someone is Jesus Christ. He is the Rock, our everlasting Refuge. If we tremble on the Rock of ages, the Rock of ages will not tremble under us.
